A certified English translation agency

The English language is spoken by millions of people all around the world, whether they are Dutch, German, Japanese or Swedish. Many of them have learned English as a second language at school. The result is that many people imagine that they are equipped to translate from their native language into English. While that is quite possible in principle, in practice it often turns out to be something of a disaster.
While it seems obvious to most people that a translator will be required for languages like Polish, French, Portuguese, Turkish or Arabic, many people believe they are fully competent to translate between English and their native tongue.
But like many other languages English has many dialects as well as a great many specific applications. There are of course major differences between American English and British English, but within British English itself there are further significant differences in the ways in which different target groups must be addressed.

Fasttranslator, certified under the ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 standards for quality, service provision and translation work, will be delighted to assist you with the production of a professional translation.

Professional translators with English as their mother tongue

We have decided to select our English translators on the basis that they are native speakers of English. They are thereby perfectly equipped to deliver a high quality translation from for example Dutch, Italian, Spanish or Russian into English.

This is not achieved by a literal translation, but rather by editing or rewriting the original so that your message will reach your intended target group in the appropriate form. The way to see it is that we don’t simply translate words in one language into another, rather we deal with your text in such a way that we can ensure that we deliver the appropriate message for the intended public.

What does a translation by Fasttranslator cost?

Unfortunately we are not in a position to offer a standard price for the translation of your project, as the eventual price is dependent on too many different factors.

A simple (and cost free) method of requesting a price quotation is to fill in our price calculator. Our system will then immediately provide you with a competitively priced quotation. We do understand however that you may have questions about your translation before requesting a quotation. In that case you may of course contact us by telephone on 01 526 2789, or send us an email with your question.

A translation agency with daily experience in a wide range of sectors.

Whether it’s your online presence or a major offline project that you are managing, we have the translator to match your job, so that we can guarantee that your translation will be carried out by a translator with experience and understanding of the sector which you have in view.
Because of this we can proudly state that we have completed some 500,000 translations in a huge range of sectors, including the medical sector the legal sector and the financial sector.

Foreign language into English translators

The challenge for a translator in delivering a sound translation is not to translate the source text literally, word for word, but rather to edit the text to adapt it to the target language. So the challenges for a translator working for example from Chinese into English are not the same as those facing an English to Chinese translator. Words for example may be interpreted differently in different languages, and the way in which the reader will expect certain words also has to be taken into account. A few examples of poor translations for your amusement:

Cocktail lounge, Norway: “Ladies are Requested Not to have Children in the Bar”

At a Budapest zoo: “PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS. If you have any suitable food, give it to the guard on duty”

Car rental brochure, Tokyo: “When passenger of foot heave in sight, tootle the horn. Trumpet him melodiously at first, but if he still obstacles your passage then tootle him with vigor”

Tokyo hotel’s rules and regulations: “Guests are requested NOT to smoke or do other disgusting behaviours in bed.”

It should be clear that you need a professional to ensure that your translated text conveys your intended meaning.

An understanding of virtually all the world’s languages

While the majority of our translations into and out of English come from language regions with many speakers (China for example), we also have plenty of translators on call who speak less common languages, for example Romanian, Greek or Danish. English is of course not the only language our translators work with!

Confidentiality and privacy

We have worked in accordance with the GDPR legislation since its introduction. Wherever possible we work with a confidentiality agreement, and it goes without saying that the content of your project will be seen only by those with responsibility for working on it. Your privacy and confidentially is fully guaranteed.
